Music is our Business

Dear Reader,

... that Reeperbahn Festival is taking place under the conditions imposed to contain the Corona pandemic is good news. I consider the encouragement that we have received from the industry as a helpful reinforcement of this decision. Many thanks for this! Nevertheless, respect for the task at hand and a feeling of solidarity with all those who have to deal with the effects of the crisis remain paramount.

This is also why Reeperbahn Festival's conference will, of course, be largely about the Corona crisis - but not exclusively! I am happy about the first speakers that we present today in this newsletter.

The feeling of a cautious new beginning should also be matched by our renewed newsletter layout, in which changing team members will report on their work areas and programs at this point in the future.

I wish you a good start into the summer, health and confidence.

Detlef Schwarte,
Director Conference

Live Under Pressure

The "Silent Summer" is depressing and the further effects of the Corona crisis on live business are still hardly foreseeable. We will talk about the industry in a state of stress in various sessions with, among others, these international guests (see left).

Marcus bischoff

In March his band "Heaven Shall Burn" was #1 in the German album charts, sold out concerts at home and abroad were imminent. But he is not only an international metal star but also an intensive care nurse at the hospital in Saalfeld, Thuringia. And so everything came differently.
