This year, we will be streaming our programme for registered delegates live from Klubhaus St. Pauli. Around 150 programme items discussing current issues of the music, film, games and advertising industries will be available. Amongst around 200 international speakers, politicians like Kevin Kühnert (SPD), Sabine Verheyen (CDU), or Klaus Ernst (Die Linke) will discuss the effects of the corona crisis. The superstar of media theory Douglas Rushkoff, artists such as Melanie C., Westbam, Nada Surf’s Matthew Caws, TikTok-Stars Lukas Rieger and Aylo will also speak alongside industry heavyweights like Helen SmithPatrick Mushatsi-KarebaPeter ElliotStefan Thanscheidt or Steve Zapp at our sessions.

The ANCHOR – Reeperbahn Festival International Music Award is an accolade for the most promising emerging musicians established in 2016.

This year Jury president Tony Visconti will have support from grammy-winning master engineer Darcy Proper, Distillers Singer Brody Dalle, TV-Host, and author Markus Kavka, Spice Girl Melanie C., and Seeed Singer Frank Dellé.

On Thursday and Friday, the Nominees will perform in the historic venue Nochtspeicher, competing for the ANCHOR, which will then be awarded at the magnificent ANCHOR – The Award Show on Saturday.

Matthew Caws is – amongst other things – the infamous lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of New York’s indie power rock outfit Nada Surf. Steve Blame talks to Matthew about his personal experience with the pandemic and how it might change the concert experience as we know it.

How did the German rap scene react to the Black Lives Matter movement or the shootings in Hanau? Together with Niko BACKSPIN presenter Aminata Belli, singer Rola and journalist Fionn Birr talks about this and more.

Wunderkinder –
German Music Talent

...will become, based on the digital conference and public shows, the hybrid export programme of Reeperbahn Festival 2020. Domestic talents with great international potential will be showcased to handpicked music industry representatives. The selected acts get the chance to play at one of the most important music events in Europe and to connect with international talent buyers from the publishing, live entertainment and recording industry sectors.
The following German talents were selected for this year’s round:

Tara Nome Doyle, ÄTNA , Lie Ning, BLVTH, JINKADRENS.

The shows of all Wunderkinder - Acts will be streamed and accessible online via our festival platform.
