On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Keychange initiative – a movement that empowers the talented underrepresented genders in the music industry – is organising a digital conference on 8 March with several sessions focusing on the current state of affairs in terms of gender equality within the European cultural and media landscape under the theme #choosetochallenge. 3:15 pm: Welcoming & Opening Words

with Sara Kelly-Husain (Host), Alexander Schulz (CEO Reeperbahn Festival & Keychange Co-Initiator), Merle Bremer (Project Lead Keychange) and Jean Philip De Tender (Director Media EBU)


3:30 pm: Addressing the gender gap in music radio

This panel is organized in collaboration with the European Broadcast Union and will echo the 2021 International Women’s Day’s special #choosetochallenge theme.


4:35 pm: kate nash: Choose to challenge

Interview with Kate Nash (Musician & Keychange Ambassador), a multi-instrumental recording artist from London, who is known as a forthright songwriter, unabashed feminist and front row style icon.


5:10 pm: Music & Gender Initiatives

The panel will feature four representatives of EU-funded initiatives working to increase the representation of women and gender minorities in music. 


6:00 pm: Q&A on the ABC of Creative Europe Support 

Interactive live Q&A with Fiona Deuss-Frandi (EACEA Project Advisor) and Marie Fol (Project Manager Keychange, freelance advisor on international mobility of artists). 


"Music & Gaming - New Markets, new Dimensions" on 16 march 

Together with our Media Partner Musikwoche and Gamesmarkt we present the next Focus Session with speakers such as Ben Sumner (Managing Director & Founder, Feel for Music, UK), Annette Gentz (Founder, ANNETTE GENTZ | MUSIC & FILM ARTS, DE) and Two-time Grammy Winning Composer Christopher Tin (US).
